Thrust measurement
Static accuracy measurement
Pressure welding waveform measurement
Inspection with check sheet
Thrust measurement
Actual thrust relative to motor torque or hydraulic pressure is measured with a load cell.
If a significant drops in thrust is observed compared to when the machine was delivered, the linear rails, ball screws, hydraulic pumps, or hydraulic cylinders, etc. may need to be replaced.
Static accuracy measurement
A master workpiece is gripped by the chuck and clamp, and runout accuracy and off center accuracy are measured. If off center exceeds tolerance values, and there is also a problem with workpiece runout accuracy after pressure welding, the chuck and clamp devices, etc. may need to be replaced.
Obtaining waveforms during pressure welding
Thrust, upset length, and spindle speed during pressure welding are gathered as waveform data, and a check is carried out to ensure that there are no abnormalities in each control timing or behavior.
Pressure welding waveforms are used mainly for analyzing defects in pressure welded parts.
Pressure welding waveforms are affected by a variety of factors including mechanical part degradation, thrust abnormalities, and abnormal static accuracy, and if abnormalities are found, a more detailed investigation may be required at a later date.
Inspection based on check sheet
The major parts of Izumi’s friction welding machines are checked based on their appearance and by feel.
Friction Welding Machine Inspection Plan
Izumi has prepared various inspection plans based on the needs of our customers.
In addition to inspection plans used to guarantee pressure welding quality and plans designed to gain an understanding of the state of equipment degradation,
IzumiI also has inspection plans based on various equipment symptoms.
Customers are free to choose the best inspection plan for them based on inspection items.
Izumi will prepare an inspection plan to meet your needs. Please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Typical plan
Plan | Work details | Documents for submissions | Target inspection time *1 |
A Thrust verification | Thrust measurement | Thrust Measurement Results Report | 0.5 days |
B Simple inspection | Thrust measurement | Thrust Measurement Results Report | 0.5 days |
Static accuracy measurement | Inspection Results Report | 0.25 days
C Standard inspection | Thrust measurement | Thrust Measurement Results Report | 0.5 days |
Static accuracy measurement | Inspection Results Report | 0.25 days
Inspection with check sheet | Inspection Results Report | 0.5 days
Pressure welding waveform measurement | Inspection Results Report | 0.25 days |
*1 The inspection time will differ depending on the size of the equipment and the year in which it was manufactured.
